CANASTA TWISTS



SWITCHAROO

2vs2 partners tour
Played in 2 player canasta
Normal table settings
Play to 5000
First player plays to 2500 then stands
Partner sits and finishes game to 5000
Both players CANNOT stand at sametime
Doing so will reset game to start
Player that goes out stands first
If table is reset to start
Both teams go back to 0
and first team to reach 2500 will win.
Partners alternate starting rounds

WORTHLESS ACES

YOU CAN NOT MELD ACES AT ALL
HINT: GOOD TO THROW AWAY CAUSE YOU CANT PICK THEM UP

SEX ON THE BEACH

You MUST meld both 6s and 9s BEFORE making any nastas
You may use wilds and meld at anytime.
NO nastas til 6s and 9s are melded to the table
(6s and 9s must be on table before nasta).

EACH END

You MUST meld 4s and Aces before making any nastas or melding any other cards
(You may meld your 4s on one turn and then meld your Aces on another turn).
NO other melds or nastas til u have EACH END


CRAZY RED 3'S

You CANNOT go out until all the Red 3s are on the board
You must have a nasta for every red 3 you get
If you DONT have the red 3s you still need 1 canasta to go out.
YOU MAY HAVE MORE NASTA THEN RED 3's... just not less to go out


SPARE CHANGE

You MUST meld both 5s and 10s BEFORE making any nastas
You may use wilds and meld at anytime.
NO nastas til 5s and 10s are melded to the table
You CAN meld anything any time...(5s and 10s must be on table before nasta)


DEVILS DELIGHT

The player who picks up the pile 1st in each hand is the Devils Delight
The DD is the only one who can take the pile during that hand
The DD must make RED nastas ONLY and NOT make any black nastas at anytime
The player who is NOT the DD may NOT take the pile but can make red AND black nastas
RED NASTA IS ALL NATURAL NO WILDS
BLACK NASTA IS WITH WILDS


CRAZY 8'S

All 8s are like black 3s
if there is an 8 on top of the pile you cannot pick it up
You cannot meld 8s ever until you are going out
8s may be used as 2nd nasta but must be played as last cards


1 NATURAL NASTA

YOU MUST HAVE AT LEAST 1 NATURAL CANASTA BEFORE YOU CAN GO OUT

MUST MELD 5's

YOU MUST MELD 5's IN YOUR OPENING MELD
NO 5's NO MELD...you may use wilds


Aces to Meld

You must have Aces in your open meld... no ACES no MELD

No Pile

You may not pick up the pile at all...The DISCARD Pile is off limits

No Freezing the Pile

You May not FREEZE the pile at all
This means no using Wilds (2's)
or Jokers on the DISCARD Pile
You may use Black 3's


Over The Hill

No one may pick up the pile under any circumstances
until there are 30 or less cards left in the DRAW DECK
When it says 30 cards or less in Deck
(NOT the DISCARD pile)
the discard pile is up for grabs
You may meld at any time
but pile is played as frozen till the DRAW deck reaches 30 or less


THIRD TIMES A CHARM

In order to go out, you must have exactly 3 canastas
If you have more or less than 3, you may not go out at anytime

Hearts Are Dead

Players CANNOT pick up pile if heart is on TOP of discard pile
You may meld hearts and wilds at anytime just no picking up a HEART

NO Going Out

Players cannot go out at all
Keep at least 1 card at all times
YOU MUST HIT NO DISCARD IF IT IS THE LAST CARD IN YOUR HAND

Odd and Even

The FIRST person named in pairings is EVEN
If you are FIRST than you can ONLY MELD Even cards (4.6.8.10.Q)
If you are SECOND you can ONLY MELD Odd cards (5.7.9.J.K)
Aces can be Melded by BOTH
EVEN 4.6.8.10.Q ODD
5.7.9.J.K BOTH MELD ACES


HEAD OF THE CLASS

You must have a canasta in your initial meld
After you've made your canasta/inital meld, you may meld normally

JACKS OR BETTER

Your FIRST meld of each hand has to be JACKS OR BETTER
(J, Q, K, A. you may use wilds)
You have to wait until your NEXT TURN to meld cards other than J.O.B.
You can only GO OUT when one of your CANASTAS is J.O.B.


NO 3 OF KIND

You may not meld three of a kind at all
(you may add wilds to it to make it 4 of a kind)
ALL sets MUST be 4 or more
You will be dqed for any sets of 3 on the table at anytime

LADIES BEFORE GENTS

Your 1st meld to the table must contain Queens
(you may use wilds and you can pick up the pile)
NO Queens NO meld
You need a nasta in either Kings or Jacks to go out


AROUND THE WORLD RACE

MAKE ALL TABLES DRAW 2 CARDS, 1 CANASTA
Get those canasta's made as fast as you can!!!!
Red or Black ones!!!
Because once you get a red 3 you can't make any more canasta's
all you can do is meld
So make those Canasta's as quick as you can as your racing against the red 3's!!!!


BACK TO NATURE

MAKE ALL TABLES DRAW 2 CARDS, 2 CANASTA'S
This special tourney has 1 special rule
Each hand you begin you may not use a wild card (joker or 2) in your meld
After melding your 50/90/120 naturally you may use as many wilds as you want


BELOW DECK

(TABLES SET 2-1)
The INVITER (the INVITER is always the Top Bracket)
chooses the game to be played for the first hand.
Then after EACH hand the player with the LOWER score
gets to choose the game for the next hand
Table is made 2/1 in case a player chooses cut for one of the hands
but if a game requires 2 canastas
then you will need 2 canastas to go out
even though the table is set for 2/1 or you will be disqualified.


BLACK TIE ONLY

MAKE ALL TABLES DRAW 2 CARDS, 2 CANASTA'S

Players cannot freeze the discard pile with a wild card
They are allowed to throw black threes, but not wilds.


BOOKSHELF

You have to meld 4's and Ace's FIRST (LIKE BOOKENDS)
you can't meld or canasta any other cards until you've got your 4's and Ace's melded first
You may meld your 4's on one turn and then meld your Ace's on another turn
You may also meld your 4's and Ace's at the same time but no other cards may be meld until your next turn
Once you've got your 4's and Ace's melded you may meld or canasta any other cards and go out




BROKEN HEARTED

(Tables set for 2-2)
All hearts are like Black 3's
If there is a heart on top of the pile you cannot pick it up
You cannot pick up the pile on a heart Ever
The trick is to toss all your junk cards and then the black 3's
and then toss the HEARTS as wilds
Keep your 2's and Jokers for Canasta's or until needed
You can go out anytime
Optional: Have players call the top card before taking the pile, to be sure they are not picking up a heart


BUILDING UP

(TABLES SET 2-2)
All your canasta's must be in order
from smallest to largest or largest to smallest
For example: If u make a canasta in the 4's (red or black doesn?t matter)
and then you make a canasta in the 10?s
you cannot go back and make one in 5, 6,7,8,9,
They are UNTOUCHABLE. They become ?junk cards?
If you make a canasta in A?s then you make a canasta in 6s
you cannot go back and make K,Q,J,10,9,8,7
They are UNTOUCHABLE?they become junk cards. You can meld them all
You just can't canasta them
Ok as meld UNTOUCHABLE as canastas
Call Elliot Ness if you get a rotten dealer


CANASTA TIC TAC TOE

You must have 3 in a row (vertically or horizontally)
before you make any canasta's
Example: 4, 5, 6 or 4, 8, Q ETC.
If you make a Canasta before you have your 3 in a row you will be DQ'ed
You may take the pile at any time but remember no canasta's until you have your 3 in a row


DIAMOND MINE

(Tables set for 2-2)
All diamonds are like Black 3's
If there is a diamond on top of the pile you cannot pick it up
You cannot pick up the pile on a diamond Ever
The trick is to toss all your junk cards and then the black 3's
and then toss the DIAMONDS as wilds
Keep your 2's and Jokers for Canasta's or until needed
You can go out anytime
Optional: Have players call the top card before taking the pile, to be sure they are not picking up a diamond.


DO OR DIE

Draw 2 Cards. 1 canasta to go out
This game is fast and furious


ELEVATOR

If you have to meld 15 or 50 you only need 1 canasta to go out
90 meld 2 canasta's to go out
120 meld 3 canasta's to go out
Game is regular canasta


FIFTY/NINETY

This is a exact meld tourney
you CAN NOT use any wilds when melding 15, 50 and 90 exact meld
You CAN use wilds when melding exact 120 meld
Your meld has to show on table before making any canasta's
so your opponent can count your meld.
If a wild is used when making 15, 50 or 90 exact meld you will be dq'ed


FIRE AND SMOKE

Your canastas go up just like a Checkerboard
They alternate red, black, red, black, or black, red, black, red, either way
So, if the First canasta you put up is Red
the next canasta you put up must be black
then another red, then black
Black or red may go up first but alternate keep them in checkerboard order
You may go out anytime
but your canastas must alternate in red and black
Can be played in either Singles or Doubles
IN FIRE AND SMOKE please be sure to put your canastas up one at a time
Please put them up one at a time in order


FIRE ENGINE #1

This game is played as regular cut singles
BUT you can only go out if you have ONLY ONE red 3
If you get none, 2, 3 or all 4 of the red 3's you can not go out
So, as soon as you only have only one red 3 you wanna go out
because if you draw another red 3 you can't go out
You can make as many canasta's as you want
but you just can't go out if you have more or less then one red 3


FIRST LADY

MAKE ALL TABLES DRAW 2 CARDS, 2 CANASTA'S, RATED, PRIVATE
This special tourney has 1 special rule
You MUST meld with Queens
(you can use wilds and you can pick up the pile as long as you meld Queens with your meld at the same time)
NO Queens NO meld


FIRST CARD UP

At the beginning of each hand
the top card up on the discard pile will determine how many canasta's
both players need to go out
If the top card up is red, you both need 1 canasta to go out
If the top card up is black, you both need 3 canasta's to go out


FOUR SCORE

MAKE ALL TABLES DRAW 2 CARDS, 2 CANASTA'S.
This special tourney has 1 special rule
You cannot have ANY 3 of a kinds on the table in front of you
they must be 4 or more, you may use a wild
(if you have 3 of a kind in your hand you may add a wild to it to make a 4 of a kind before melding it)
Also you can meld a pair with 2 wilds


GRAND SLAM

(Tables set for 2-2)
You cannot meld anything unless you can go out directly
That's it Easy. You can't meld unless you can go out.
You can't pick the pile up, because that requires a Meld
You can't Meld unless you can go out
If you take pile "YOU MUST GO OUT" use all cards no leftovers

HARD AS A ROCK

MAKE ALL TABLES DRAW 2 CARDS, 2 CANASTA'S
The name fits the game, this is a very hard game
You can not meld any cards to the table
You can not freeze the pile
You can only make canasta's straight from your hand and never let it touch table
If you meld any cards or freeze the pile you will be dq'ed. Good luck!


HEAD OF THE CLASS

This special tourney has 1 special rule
You MUST meld with a canasta as your initial meld each hand
That means you need to make a canasta from your hand to the board along with your other meld


HIGH STAKES CANASTA

This is a Progressive rounds, canasta game
based on the number of rounds
This means the more rounds you play
the more canastas you need to go out
The following chart summarizes it.
RND 1** , you need 1 nasta to go out
RND 2** , you need 2 nastas to go out
RND 3** , you need 3 nastas to go out
RND 4** , you need 4 nastas to go out
RND 5** , you need 5 nastas to go out
RND 6** , you need 6 nastas to go out


IN A HURRY

MAKE ALL TABLES DRAW 2 CARDS, 2 CANASTA'S
This special tourney is a game of canasta with a twist
The Twist is there is only 1 hand
The person with the higher score after 1 hand will be awarded the win

LEGACY

MAKE ALL TABLES DRAW 2 CARDS, 2 CANASTA'S
If you are the first person to draw a card, and the top card is black
you may only meld or canasta anything between 4's and 8's
If the top card is red, then you can only meld or canasta anything between 9's and King's.
The aces are like black three's and you can discard them
but you can't meld Aces or meld the Black 3's until going out
You can't canasta Aces either
You do not have to freeze the pile because it is no pick up

LOSERS

(Tables set for 2-2 UNRATED)
This game is so much fun, you play to lose
The person with the Lowest score Wins
It's harder than you think because you throw away all your good cards
and pray the other person gets the Red 3's
You need to change your entire line of thinking because you are playing to LOSE in this trny


LUCKY 7'S RULE

MAKE ALL TABLES DRAW 2 CARDS, 2 CANASTA'S
You MUST meld with 7's in your initial meld
(you can use wilds and you can pick up the pile as long as you meld 7's with your meld at the same time)
First person to meld 7's is the only person who can go out that hand
The player who melds 7's first please say at table "Lucky 7"
so the TD will know who melded 7's first

MONOPOLY

(Tables set for 2-1)
Players must meld 4,5,6,7,8,9,10,J,Q,K,A
BEFORE a canasta can be made by anyone
Between the two of you all sets must be melded
Do not pass go. Do not collect $200.00
until every set is melded on the board between the two of you.
Then anyone may make a canasta. Red or black.
But not until all sets are melded. You can meld and pick up the pile at anytime
You need one canasta to go out


NIGHT ON THE TOWN

All clubs are like Black 3's
If there is a club on top of the pile you cannot pick it up
You cannot pick up the pile on a club Ever
The trick is to toss all your junk cards and then the black 3's
and then toss the CLUBS as wilds
Keep your 2's and Jokers for Canasta's or until needed
You can go out anytime.
Optional: Have players call the top card before taking the pile, to be sure they are not picking up a club


ONE HUNDRED TWENTY MELD

This special tourney has 1 special rule
120 meld whole game (no 50's or 90's meld's)
IT'S NOT EXACT MELD. It's 120+ meld the WHOLE GAME
You have to show your meld on the table before making any canasta's
so 120+ meld can be counted by opponent and/or TD


ONE SHOT DEAL

In this tournament you cannot meld on table until you can go out
that means if you make a canasta you have to go out in the same turn
You must make all canasta's straight from your hand
They should never touch the table, they have to go straight to canasta's
Once you lay your cards on the table, you must go out in that turn
You CANNOT make a canasta from cards that have touched your board as meld
So if you have five 7's on the table you can not make a canasta out of them
You can have a discard to go out


POPSICLE

(Tables set for 2-2)
Do Not Touch The Pile Unless It Is Frozen
A wild or a 2 freezes a pile, a black 3 does not
A red 3 at the beginning of a game freezes the pile
So the idea in this game is to keep throwing away all your discards because no one can pick up the pile until it is frozen
Once someone freezes it, you may then pick up the pile as in regular canasta
If the pile ISN'T FROZEN don't pick it up
NO POPSICLE


RED CARPET CANASTA

MAKE ALL TABLES DRAW 2 CARDS, 2 CANASTA'S
Played like regular singles except you cannot meld kings or queens
unless straight from your hand to a red canasta
Good luck and have fun

RUN LIKE THE WIND

(TABLE SET 2-2)
You may Not meld anything your opponent has melded
Whether it be canasta already or not
This is the Standard Canasta format
It can be played Draw 2 cards 2 Canastas to go out
or Draw 2 cards 1 Canasta to go out


SCARLET LETTER

You can only touch the pile if you have a red canasta made on the board
You can't freeze the pile
and you can have as many black canasta's as you want
and can go out at anytime
You can't touch the pile to make your red canasta either


SPADE IN THE SHADE

(TABLES SET 2-2)
All spades are like Black 3's
If there is a spade on top of the pile you cannot pick it up
You cannot pick up the pile on a spade Ever
The trick is to toss all your junk cards and then the black 3's
and then toss the SPADES as wilds
Keep your 2's and Jokers for Canasta's or until needed
You can go out anytime
Optional: Have players call the top card before taking the pile, to be sure they are not picking up a spade.

SPEED ZONE AHEAD

(tables set 2-1)
Cut at a fast pace
You have exactly 30 minutes to play the entire game
start to finish. Game called by TD after 30 minutes
High score wins
If you have a slow comp or love to yak (like me) this game is not for you
This game is designed for our players who like fast and furious cutthroat
One brb or MIA can cost you the entire game

STORM WARNING

(Tables set for 2-2)
In this game your First Canasta must be a Red and your Second Canasta a Black
in that order. Red first. Then black
After a Red and Black Canasta are up anything goes
Put a RED canasta up first, then a BLACK
then you may go out or put up any color canasta you choose
But you must have a RED and a BLACK up (in that order) to go out

Gin TWISTS


LOVEBOAT

Rules:
Table Settings:
First person called sets the table in the following manner:
No knocking,
1 min timer,
Aces high and/or low [host choice],
uncheck Multi-match,
do not limit players ratings from joining the table,
allow watchers,
do not allow watchers to see cards,
unrated, private with usual password.
Pairs will announce in the lobby winner name//loser name.
MIA's have til last pair reports to get in room and to their table, or so sorry, DQ.
If you gin and have the 3 of clubs as a play card, it's an auto win.
You must throw a heart suit card as the last discard when ginning.
If a heart suit card isn't thrown when ginning, it's an auto DQ.
Host decides length of game [IE: 1 hand, 50 pts., 100 pts., etc.]




TWISTED BOWLING

One Ball Wonder

Rules:
You may only throw one ball per frame for all frames 1 through 10.
If you throw a second ball in any frame you may not bowl the next frame at all.
If you bowl next frame anyway you lost the round.
If you throw both balls in 2 frames you lost.


Super Turkey

Rules:
The first player to get a turkey in the round wins their match
all remaining players play out the round as regular game highest score wins

Pick A Frame

Rules:
At the start of each round each player will pick one frame
any frame 1 through 8.
Your opponent is not allowed to bowl the frame you picked.
If you bowl Your out, you must skip the next 2 frames.


Open Frame

Rules:
The first player to throw a split (open frame) is the non winner.


Strike Out

Rules:
No strikes allowed if you get a strike your the non winner.
otherwise high score wins

Spare Nothing

Rules:
No spares allowed
if you get a spare your the non winner.
otherwise high score wins


Baseball

Rules:
Three strikes and your out other than that highest score wins.

Low Ball

Rules:
Low score wins
no 0'S OR GUTTER BALLS allowed
you must hit a pin with every ball.
If you have a 0 on your score you lost.


Sharp Shooter

Rules:
The td will pick and post a score
The goal is to hit the score exactly,
or get as close as you can without going over.
If you go over and your opponent doesn't you lost.
If both players go over the one closest to the goal score wins.
You must also hit at least 1 pin with every ball a 0 in any frame is a loss.



10 Hole miniture golf

Rules:
The goal is to knock down the number of pins equal to the frame number
frame 1 one pin,
frame 2 two pins
and so on through frame 10
If you get less than the number say you get 5 pins in frame 6 you lost
It's ok to go over but never under
a perfect game is 55 points.



TWISTED 8 BALL POOL

Bank the 8 Ball

Rules:
You must bank the 8 ball off of at least one rail before it goes into called pocket
not the Q ball the 8 ball.
Banking the Q ball into the 8 ball does not count.
Bouncing the 8 Ball in the corners does not count.
Riding the rail with the 8 ball does not count.
It must be a clean bank off of at least one rail


Dirty Q Ball

Rules:
If you scratch at any time you are the non winner


Dirty Bonus

Rules:
If you drop ANY ball into the bonus pocket AFTER the break you are the non winner


Dirty Foul

Rules:
If you Foul at any time
( fail to touch one of your balls when you shoot.
Hit another players ball before hitting yours )
You are the non winner


No Hands

Rules:
No ball in hand
if your opponent scratches, fouls, or times out you may not move the cue ball
you must play it were it lies.
If a player moves the cue ball for any reason they lost.


Centers only

Rules:
You may only call shots for the center pockets ( side pockets )
intentoinally sinking balls in corner pockets is a forfiet.
The idea is to shoot for center pockets only


Split table

Rules:
First player called gets 3 pockets at the top of the screen
second player gets 3 pockets at the bottom of the screen
You may only call shots on your half of the table
intentionally shooting into other pockets is a forfiet!


Power Ball

Rules:
All shots must be full power only.
EXCEPT THE 8 BALL.
If you slip or fail to use full power it's a foul
meaning on next shot you must tap the Q ball and your opponent has ball in hand.


Pyramid

Rules:
Each player will be shooting a triangle
first player called will get bottom corners and top center
second player called will get top corners and bottom center


Four Corners

Rules:
intentionally shooting into center ( side ) pockets is a forfiet!


Last pocket

Rules:
You must shoot the 8 Ball into the last pocket you sank a regular shot in.


Pick A Pocket

Rules:
Who picks will be stated on rules page.


Reverse 8 Ball

Rules:
Is as simple as it sounds sink the 8 ball as fast as you can.
It does not matter if it's your first ball or the last.
It does not matter if pogo says you lost.
First player to sink the 8 ball is the winner.


Reverse 8 Ball

Rules:
You can NOT get ANY ball into the center pocket AFTER the break
if you do you are NON-WINNER.
